About the work:
"Cittipati" refers to the protectors in Tibetan Buddhist esoteric tradition known as the Lords of the Cemetery. This term originates from Sanskrit and signifies "lords of the cemetery." In Tibetan art, they are often depicted as two dancing skeletons adorned with crowns of skulls and colorful ribbons.
Although the Cittipati may appear eerie and terrifying, it serves to remind people that the ultimate end for everyone is merely a skeleton. This awareness encourages people to let go of their attachment to permanence and to seek wisdom and the bliss of liberation. Additionally, it is believed that wearing a skull for a long time can bring the blessings of the Cittipati, helping to overcome obstacles of poverty, avert major disasters, and ensure long-lasting happiness and longevity.
