About the work:
It began with inspiration from the unique shape of a longheaded grasshopper, drawn from my passion for insect macro photography. Initial stages involved blocking in the primary shapes using the grasshopper as a reference. However, as the process evolved, I set aside the reference to develop a more imaginative, hybrid creation. This entailed incorporating distinct textures and blending crustacean characteristics, such as claw-like appendages and pronounced eyes, to produce a creature that transcends any singular species. The resulting work is an intriguing fusion of insect and crustacean elements, embodying both naturalistic detail and creative abstraction.
